Mr. Jackson was employed as a truck driver for
Empire Gas and Pittsburgh Paint & Glass in
Lincoln for 10 to 12 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was born April 9, 1929, in Ottawa. His
parents were Vaughn Eldon and Nellie Crawford
Jackson. He married Betty Mae Utterback on Jan.
1, 1953. She preceded him in death on March 14,
2005.
He is survived by two daughters, Jane Ellen
(and Randy) Morris of Beason and Doris Jean (and
Byron) Helton of Mount Pulaski; seven
grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one
sister, Juanita Jackson.
He was also preceded in death one daughter,
Margaret Sue Challans; one grandson, Robert Lee
Morris; one brother, William Clyde Jackson; and
one sister, Margie Groves.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign
Wars in Lincoln.
Memorials may be made to the Illinois School
for the Blind in Jacksonville or United Cerebral
Palsy.
