MOUNT
PULASKI -- Dale Henry Bassett, 91, of Mount
Pulaski, formerly of San Jose, Calif., and Grass
Range, Mont., died Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at
1:45 p.m. at Vonderlieth Living Center. |
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount
Pulaski, with the Rev. Steven Smith officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the
service.
Burial will be in Steenbergen Cemetery, where
military rites will be conducted.
Mr. Bassett served in the U.S. Army in
occupied Japan during World War II.
He was born on Jan. 3, 1920, in Grass Range,
Mont., to Frank Harvey and Elda Lubeke Bassett.
He married Bessie Ray on March 26, 1944, at Camp
Ruker, Ala.
He is survived by his wife, of Mount Pulaski;
two sons, David (and Cathy) Bassett of Mount
Pulaski and Harley J. (and Pamela) Bassett of
Twin Falls, Idaho; nine grandchildren; many
great-grandchildren; and many nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Robert,
and one brother, Earl. |
He was a member of the Shrine and Masonic
Lodge of San Jose, Calif., Veterans of Foreign
Wars of Pahrump, Nev., and Mount Pulaski
American Legion Post 447.
Memorials may be made to the Shriners
Hospitals for Children.
